چکیده
In this paper, we illustrate how a cooperative learning paradigm may benefit from cutting edge e-learning techniques. We use Web 2.0 resources to fulfill requirements for an interactive-constructivistic “learning space”, extending an existing Free/Open Source Software Learning Management System, to create a cooperative and community-based learning space adherent to our proposal. The paper shows also how to use our toolset on two case

Scaffolding: A way for supporting learners in e-learning environments
Introduction: One of the effective ways to help learners improve their learning in learning environments is scaffolding. Scaffolding can be defined as teachers, other learners and resources support of learner on tasks that can’t be done alone. Experts strongly demand scaffolding to be used to help learners on abstractive and complex issues. The aim of this study is to examine the scaffoldi...
متن کاملUsing Free/Libre Open Source Software Projects as E-learning Tools
Free/Libre Open Source Software (FLOSS) projects can be considered as learning environments in which heterogeneous communities get together to exchange knowledge through discussion and put it into practice through actual contributions to software development, revision and testing. This has encouraged tertiary educators to attempt the inclusion of participation in FLOSS projects as part of the r...
متن کاملSupporting the Learning Process of Open Source Novices: An Evaluation of Visualization Tools
Exposure to Open Source Software (OSS) projects provides students with opportunities to experience “real-world” software development processes and practices, including the opportunity to work with large, existing, and complex code-bases and development communities. Working with OSS also poses challenges. In this paper, we look at some of the challenges students may face when learning about and ...
متن کاملAn Operational Approach for Building Learning Environments Supporting Cognitive Flexibility
Constructivism is a learning theory that states that people learn by actively constructing their own knowledge, based on prior knowledge. A significant number of ICT-based constructivist learning systems have been proposed in recent years. According to our analysis, those systems exhibit only a few constructivist principles, and a critical problem related to the design and use of this kind of s...

Zebu is an educational groupware technology which facilitates the use of standard WWW software to support collaborative project-based learning. This paper discusses the promise of Zebu in helping teachers and students overcome some technical and practical, educational problems inherent in WWW-based technologies, allowing them to more fully realise the potentials of the WWW as a technology for c...
